Flags

means no passing, no jumping, slow right down until past the hazard

means there is 1 lap to go
Chequered flag
means the race is over, pull off the track when suitable.
Black flag
means get off the track immediately, you have been disqualified

when used means Go - the race has started
Red flag
means the race has been stopped. come back to the start line

If you are a flag marshall, NEVER leave your post until you have been relieved by someone else. even if a rider is down and injured, do not move from your position. without you there waving the flag, the rider will not only be injured, but also end up with another bike on top of them and probably another injured rider and an injured you. this is why staying in position is so important.
